Nursery In the new school there will be room for children in purpose built accommodation at the front of the building.
There has been a nursery in Kintore Primary School since 1997.  The nursery is staffed by 2 teachers and 3 nursery nurses and has provision for 2 sessions.  Provision has also been made for a developmental Nursery within the mainstream Nursery Session 1 and this will be supported by a 1 teacher and 1 Nursery Nurse.

Session 1 - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Thursday and Friday afternoons                                     

Session 2 - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and Thursday and Friday morning

Nursery times are:- 9a.m. to 11.30a.m. and 12.15p.m. to 2.45p.m.

An annual inspection is carried out to ensure standards of care, the last one being by the Care Commission in March 2006.

The Aims of the Nursery are to:-

  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment, in which children feel happy and secure.
  • Encourage the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of each child.
  • Promote the welfare of the children.
  • Encourage positive attitudes to self and others and develop confidence and esteem.
  • Create opportunities for play.
  • Encourage children to explore, appreciate and respect their environment.
  • Provide opportunities to stimulate interest and imagination.
  • Extend the children's abilities to communicate ideas and feelings in a variety of ways.
